Extractions
The dentist performs simple extractions and an oral surgeon (a dentist that has completed an additional four-year program for performing theses services) performs complicated extractions such as wisdom teeth.

Third molars or wisdom teeth often need to be removed due to inadequate space for them in the jaws. If left untreated they can cause chronic or acute infections that can result in bad breath or life threatening medical complications. In some cases there will be cyst formations around the unerupted wisdom teeth. These cysts can result in a substantial loss of bony structure in the jawbone. In addition, wisdom teeth can push the dentition forward during the eruption and cause crowding of the lower anterior teeth.

IV - Sedation
In order to provide our patients with maximum comfort during the extractions our oral surgeon, can sedate the patient. This requires additional training and involves careful administration of sedatives (relaxing medications) that will make the patient feel much more comfortable during the procedures and takes the pain away.
